Encarta Multimedia Encyclopedia was created by Microsoft Corporation from the years 1993 to 2009. As of the year 2008, the complete English version, Encarta Premium which consisted of more than 62,000 articles, numerous photos and illustrations, music clips, videos, interactivities, timelines, maps and atlas, and homework tools, and is available on the Internet by a yearly subscription or by purchase on DVDs or CDs. Many articles could also be viewed online with no cost attached. Such websites include MSN Encarta Online.

Microsoft Encarta encyclopedia is also available in various languages, such as German, French, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish and Japanese. This feature makes it easily accessible for many persons around the world especially students. Students can find relevant information for research without having to log on to the internet, because this software can be made accessible straight from the desk top or from a CD or DVD ROM.

    My brother and I was browing through this site. even though it is on line, it provided enough materials t create and designs items for a social project. My brother was especially thrilled by the amount of music and graphics. I was more fascinated by the opportunity to utilize the interactive activiies. the illustration also stressed the importance of this site.
